Bike Make-Up was founded in 2022 by a kid who was just 15 years old — and that kid was me.
For a long time, I kept my name and story out of it. I mean, why would anyone be impressed by just a kid starting a business? Starting a business is the easy part. Sticking with it showing up every day, even when no one’s watching that’s the hard part.
I wasn’t the smartest kid in school. I struggled with ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning challenges. But none of that ever stopped me. I always believed that the earlier you start your business, the better. Why? Because if you fail, you still have a roof over your head, food on the table, and time to learn. That’s the luxury of being 15.
Where It All Began
I grew up riding bikes and dreamed of making a living from the sport. But reality hit hard my bike spent more time in the repair shop than on the trails. And every time it broke, it cost more money.
I started to realize: maybe it’s not just about how hard you ride, but how well you take care of your bike.
I was using expensive bike cleaning products, and yes, they worked but they drained my wallet. My parents got tired of handing out cash for bike wash products that didn’t last.
That’s when Bike Make-Up was born a brand that started with one simple goal:
Create a product that not only cleans your bike, but protects it too.
Beating the Odds
Bike Make-Up wasn’t backed by money or big investors just money I made from reselling bike parts.
I was competing against brands with 30 years of history double my age.
The only way to stand out? Two things:
1. The best products money can buy.
2. Next-level content marketing.
The Rise of a Movement
Over the last few months, we’ve generated over 300,000 views just on Instagram. That content connected us with riders who also dream big who wanted to do more than just ride.
